{"id":446,"date":"2025-09-15T02:23:26","date_gmt":"2025-09-15T02:23:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.karrathacentralapartments.com.au\/?p=446"},"modified":"2025-09-15T02:28:46","modified_gmt":"2025-09-15T02:28:46","slug":"visit-millstream-chichester-national-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.karrathacentralapartments.com.au\/site\/visit-millstream-chichester-national-park\/","title":{"rendered":"Visit Millstream-Chichester \u2028National Park"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cut south from the nearby town of Roebourne and before long you\u2019ll come to a stunning tropical oasis against the peaks of the Chichester Range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biodiverse Millstream-Chichester National Park has rock-lined pools, verdant water holes fed by underground springs, rivers lined with lush vegetation and rugged gorges that demand to be explored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One inspiring sight is the Fortesque River, and the massive ferns on its banks contrasting with the stark outback scenery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The presence of ample and permanent water in the park gives rise to lots of birdlife, and more than 120 species have been recorded here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Yindjibarndi people are the traditional custodians of this land, and now take decisions about its conservation, and work in the park as rangers and contractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can learn about their culture and the park\u2019s pastoralist history at the Millstream Homestead Visitor Centre, set in a building from 1919.
